When You sing in Church Is It for: Worship or Entertainment?

Today is a GREAT DAY! Yesterday i went to this church and it was different needlesstosay, but one thing i did bring from the event...When You Sing in Church Is It for: Worship or Entertainment? There were many things that one could talk about concerning this church but i tell you their Worship service was awesome. Never mind them selling neckties out in the foyer and using credit card machines to take Tithes...and seemingly a fashion show....their Worship was awesome.

When the Praise and Worship Team got up to sing you could feel their hearts rumbling through the microphones! It does help that one would come expecting to worship Christ the Living King! Now truth be told Worship isn't something you do on Sunday morning, its something you do 24/7...its your life style. Too many come on Sunday mornings to give and/or expect a performance. Too many come to see if they are the star of the morning!!! So i ask, when you sing in church is it for Worship or Entertainment.

Others would be concern about the other items I mention but thats not the topic of today. Today's topic is Worship! Check out the conversation that Jesus has with the woman at the well...

John 4:21-26

"Sir," the woman said, "I can see that you are a prophet. Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem." Jesus declared, "Believe me, woman, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." The woman said, "I know that Messiah" (called Christ) "is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us." Then Jesus declared, "I who speak to you am he."

Long story short...we must have a true relationship with our Father and fear him with respect to worship him in spirit and in true with our lives! There may have been other things that was different at that church but I will definitely say they WORSHIPED not entertained!
