Fearing the Things I Can Not See

Hey..

As I'm towering over these obstacle in life, fearing the things I can't see grips my heart! I want to be one that will leave this place called earth better then how I found it. I have so many fears that circulate in my mind - what if I'm not as good as people say I am? What if my attempts go unrecognized? What if I talk this game and nothing comes of if? What if my faith isn't good enough to get me to the "next level"?

To be honest, man I'm just like everyone else - I have fears and sometimes those fears cripple me to the point that I live in the past. I've been hurt by some many people that I'm scared to trust. I've lost EVERYTHING that I've owned and sometimes it seems like there's no hope for me! What about an album - not to mention that album flopping. When will it be my turn to allow the world to hear my heart? What if I choose the wrong woman for my wife?

As these thoughts chase after my dreams I only have one thing to rely on - The Holy Scriptures.

So when these thoughts chase my dream and say:

  • What if I'm not as good as people say I am?

    Psalm 139:13-15 tells me that I'm Fearfully and wonderfully made! And Psalm 12:2-3 tells me that many speak vanity with their flattering lips. A double heart do they have so watch those with sweet words.

  • What if my attempts go unrecognized?

    Proverbs 13:4 states the sluggish man craves but gets nothing, but those whom are DILIGENT shall be made fat (FULLY SATISFIED from the ATTEMPTS). The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but the one that is hasty will only want - Proverbs 21:5 states that.

  • What if I talk this game and nothing comes of if?

    Matthew 25:23 has recorded "his master replying, "Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!' " 1 Cor. 4:2 said that it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful!

  • What if my faith isn't good enough to get me to the "next level"?

    John 15:1-5 articulates "I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

  • Just  live in the past.

    Ephesians 4:31-32 has it plainly stated "Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. James 5:9 goes on to say do not complain, brethren, against one another, so that you[yourselves] may not be judged. Look! The Judge is [already] standing at the very door.

  • Don't trust anyone.

    Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 says "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."

  • There's no hope for you.

    Hear this from Psalm 35:27 - Let them shout for joy and be glad, Who favor my righteous cause; And let them say continually, “Let the LORD be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”

  • What about an album - not to mention that album flopping!

    Proverbs 3:24-26 states When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

  • When will it be my turn to allow the world to hear my heart?

    Psalm 37:7-9 hit it hard! It says, "Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil. For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land."

  • What if I choose the wrong woman for my wife?

    Proverbs 31:10-31 gives me a guide on who to select:

     10 A wife of noble character who can find?
           She is worth far more than rubies.

     11 Her husband has full confidence in her
           and lacks nothing of value.

     12 She brings him good, not harm,
           all the days of her life.

     13 She selects wool and flax
           and works with eager hands.

     14 She is like the merchant ships,
           bringing her food from afar.

     15 She gets up while it is still dark;
           she provides food for her family
           and portions for her servant girls.

     16 She considers a field and buys it;
           out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.

     17 She sets about her work vigorously;
           her arms are strong for her tasks.

     18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
           and her lamp does not go out at night.

     19 In her hand she holds the distaff
           and grasps the spindle with her fingers.

     20 She opens her arms to the poor
           and extends her hands to the needy.

     21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
           for all of them are clothed in scarlet.

     22 She makes coverings for her bed;
           she is clothed in fine linen and purple.

     23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
           where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.

     24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
           and supplies the merchants with sashes.

     25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
           she can laugh at the days to come.

     26 She speaks with wisdom,
           and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

     27 She watches over the affairs of her household
           and does not eat the bread of idleness.

     28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
           her husband also, and he praises her:

     29 "Many women do noble things,
           but you surpass them all."

     30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
           but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

     31 Give her the reward she has earned,
           and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
